Let Harold know what you think!
Enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful Curi-Cancha Reserve. Led by a naturalist guide, you’ll explore the reserve’s trails and search for birds, mammals, insects and more.
About the Curi-Cancha Reserve:
The Curi-Cancha Reserve is a 237-acre (96-ha) reserve that protects both primary and secondary forests. The reserve sees fewer visitors than the Monteverde and Santa Elena reserves, but has some of the best birding in the area.
Of the many birds that live here, resplendent quetzals, keel-billed toucans, orange-bellied trogons, and blue-crowned motmots are some of the best. Also present in the reserve are anteaters, three-toed sloths, howler monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys, and armadillos. Lowland wet montane forest dominates the lower elevations, while premontane cloud forests blanket higher areas.
Private Guided Tour:
This is a privately guided tour, so you won’t have to share a guide with a large group of people. Privately guided tours are much more intimate and typically allow for better experiences – more questions are asked and more info is gleaned.
You’ll walk along the reserve’s trails and learn about the plants, animals, and insects that you pass. You might learn about reptilian camouflage or the incredible tenacity of strangler figs. The walk is available at the time of your choosing and typically lasts about 3 hours.
Your guides are equipped with a telescope, binoculars, and informational guidebooks. Remember to bring your camera and questions – you’ll be sure to want both!
Comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, insect repellent, camera, water, and raincoat.
